Review an Atlas datalog and ask a precise tuning question
Open a saved log, isolate the event you need help with, export the data, and share a support post that other tuners can actually investigate.
What you’ll finish with
A support post containing the actual log file, the time range that matters, and a specific question. This walkthrough starts with an existing Atlas datalog; it does not ask you to perform a road pull or change a calibration.
Before you begin
Have your saved log, vehicle details, Atlas version, and a short description of the symptom available. Keep an unchanged original file and work with a sharing copy. Review filenames and file contents for personal information before uploading.
1. Open the log
Press Ctrl+D in Atlas (Cmd+D on macOS) to open Data Logging. Load the saved log through that window’s menu. Each open log has its own tab; select the correct recording.
2. Find and mark the event
Move the pointer horizontally across the tracks to inspect their values together. Click the event to place a marker. Record its timestamp; the log’s time axis begins at zero.
To compare tracks together, Ctrl-click the tracks and use their right-click grouping option.
3. Write down the question
Describe the observation first, then what you expected. Include a short interval around the event so readers can see what happened before and after it.
For example, “At about 42 seconds, this value changes while this other value stays steady. Is that expected in these conditions?” is easier to investigate than “Does this log look okay?” Substitute the real measurements and conditions from your recording; the example is a writing template, not a diagnosis.
4. Export a shareable copy
Use the Data Logging window’s menu to export a CSV. Retain the original log as well. If a scatter plot helps explain the question, right-click a track, choose Plot Scatter, and select the X, Y and Value fields. A plot’s right-click menu can save a PNG. Share the CSV alongside any image.
5. Post the evidence
Sign into the community, open Forums → Datalogs & diagnostics, and start a discussion. Include:
- Vehicle year, model and transmission; identify VA or VB where applicable.
- Relevant modifications, fuel and Atlas version.
- What changed before the symptom appeared.
- The observation, timestamp range and one specific question.
Publish the discussion, then use Attach an image, datalog, or tune file beneath your post to upload the CSV. Confirm that the filename appears as a downloadable attachment.
Check the result
Another member should be able to download the data, locate the event without searching the entire log, and understand what you want explained. An annotated screenshot can help orient them, but include the recorded data too.
If a needed measurement is absent, check the gauge set used during recording: Atlas records gauges. A missing measurement cannot be recovered from that file. Decide which measurements are needed before another recording.
